Together we make Hilversum a little more beautiful. In order to steer this 'together' in the right direction online, we like to make some agreements about this with each other.

Hilversummers.nl is for all Hilversummers. We therefore think it is important that we ensure that we offer everyone a safe home. Treat others with the same respect as you would like to be treated yourself.

1. Everyone has their own voice on Hilversummers.nl
   Anyone who feels involved in improving the physical and social living environment can participate on and at Hilversummers.nl.
2. At Hilversummers.nl we introduce ourselves
   In order to understand each other, it is nice and useful to know who is making a substantive contribution. We have chosen that everyone can participate in Hilversummers.nl provided you identify yourself and only participate in the conversations under your own name and with a recognizable photo.
3. At Hilversummers.nl we communicate from a positive keynote
   Syrup works better than vinegar and that also applies to maintaining a good relationship with your fellow villagers. A compliment is very welcome and well-intentioned advice to help someone further too. And unvarnished criticism? Just do that on Facebook.
4. At Hilversummers.nl we focus on the public interest
   Together we are committed to improving Hilversum based on the common interest. And this, of course, is our all self-interest, allowing us to leave out the rest of our own interests.
5. At Hilversummers.nl we use the power of the invitation
   As an initiator, I can invite someone to participate in the initiative. Whether the other accepts my invitation is up to the other, and we value that freedom of choice. Commandments and prohibitions have given way to inspiration and enthusiasm.
6. At Hilversummers.nl we communicate 'on topic'
   Do you know better than the neighbor? Then focus on putting forward a substantive improvement suggestion and respect the neighbor in doing so.
7. At Hilversummers.nl we give each other space
   Freedom of expression is an important and fundamental element of a democratic society. From Hilversummers.nl we think that the freedom of one person ends where it would infringe on the freedom of another. We were therefore very pleased if you actively do your best to leave room for someone else and the suggestions for improvement that that person has.
8. At Hilversummers.nl we complement each other
   Additions and additions will make your fellow Hilversummers happy. In this way an idea becomes more complete and realistic and thus the chance of realization increases.
9. At Hilversummers.nl we are looking for the nuance
   26 letters in our alphabet allow us to make tons of words, which we can in turn use to make many more sentences, not to mention non-verbal communication. So, all in all, we have quite a lot of opportunities to look for the nuance and to express it. Let's enjoy it and take advantage of it, just then we will move forward together.
10. At Hilversummers.nl we recognize that sometimes someone has more knowledge about something
    And in that case, we value someone's expertise and use it to create optimal value for our living environment together.
11. On Hilversummers.nl you can also let an idea or initiative pass you by
    Sometimes you prefer to spend your energy, and well-intended feedback, on another idea or initiative, and that's totally fine. It's totally okay to just let something pass you by.
12. At Hilversummers.nl we assume abundance
    Any idea that contributes to improvement is welcome and valuable. We assume that together we can realize many of the ideas. Ideas do not have to compete with each other.
13. On Hilversummers.nl, problems exist by the grace of a solution
    In other words, we only see a problem as a problem if we know a solution, and then the problem is suddenly much less problematic. And a problem without a solution is what we call circumstances.
14. At Hilversummers.nl we continue to rely on the possibilities
    Even when things are not going well or we didn't get our way.
15. At Hilversummers.nl we respect each other's property
    The neighbor's garden as well as images and texts have a rightful owner, and we treat them with respect.
16. At Hilversummers.nl we accept the laws and regulations
    It is what it is and if you want to find or change something about it... go into politics.
17. At Hilversummers.nl we keep each other sharp on our own behavior

    The intention is good even if it comes across differently. By choosing this starting point, we make it much easier for ourselves to exchange thoughts from a connection with another.
