Ukraine Connected offers Ukrainian refugees in Hilversum (and beyond) a virtual meeting place to meet each other online. To talk to each other, to exchange experiences, to ask questions, to find people, to follow Dutch lessons or for other things. The platform is available 24/7. Once a week (or more often if needed) there is a program from 'the studio in Hilversum'. The platform offers a place for the refugees to be among each other. My challenge is to have as many Hilversum (media) parties as possible work together on the platform. The knowledge, skills and experience in the field of online platforms has increased enormously in recent years. The creative media industry uses this with heart for the cause. The virtual meeting place can partly be used by users themselves and partly we initiate programming on it. A first idea is to come up with a weekly program 'from the studio' in Hilversum. The platform can also be used to inform each other with podcasts and/or vlogs. NEP/Creative Animal has agreed to cooperate and more discussions with media companies are currently underway. A lot is happening in the Netherlands at the moment to help Ukrainian refugees. We are in talks with the Dutch Council for Refugees to ensure that Ukraine United can link up with other initiatives in the best possible way.
